Information Is Everything

I scribbled this note down yesterday (capitalization original):

THERE IS AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF INFORMATION AVAILABLE NOW.

READING IT ALL ISN’T POSSIBLE.

BEING WELL-INFORMED IS.

HOW DO WE PICK [what to read]?

I think I know how to choose: be picky and critical of what sources you choose to read and prune your collection frequently. But I still get wrapped up in it and read online sources too much, probably.

About Marc Hummel

Marc Hummel is a copywriter for a large West Chester-based company you've always known about but haven't thought about in awhile. He's pursuing a graduate degree in Communication and Business Strategy at Temple University. Yes, it's as fancy as it sounds. He lives in the Bella Vista neighborhood of Philadelphia. No, that's not quite as fancyas it sounds. Close, though. Marc enjoys good coffee, music, non-fiction books, Woody Allen, listening to NPR, trying new restaurants, and drinking hoppy beers. That’s a thought I obsess over myself. Here’s an interesting Einstein quote on related idea:

“I don’t need to know everything,I just need to know where to find it when I need it.”

    • Marc Hummel says:

What does that quotation mean in the age of the Internet? We have access to unlimited information, so we wouldn’t need to know any facts whatsoever? Do we only need to know how to process it?

I know I’m taking an extreme stance here but that’s interesting.
